Research and Development are the cornerstones of our business and Nippon Shikizai’s highest priority. Hence, 8% of sales are invested every year in R&D.

Strong of 40 talented scientists, our R&D department represents almost 10% of our company’s workforce in Japan.

30 formulators are split into 4 groups:
Powder make-up,
Oil-based make-up (lipstick, wax eye shadow, etc.),
Water-based/emulsion make-up (foundation and mascara) ,
Skin care,
and supported by several teams :
Research Management,
Microbiology,
Efficacy / Quality Control.

The R&D department works closely with our production facilities, equipment manufacturers, universities, raw material suppliers and marketers to be aware of the latest formulation and filling technologies and to consistently stay at the top of the cosmetics industry.

Nippon Shikizai is also open to joint R&D with customers and can provide them with technical support for their formulas.
